Definition

产地 (chǎn dì) refers specifically to the place where a product is made or grown — its manufacturing or agricultural origin. Unlike 来源 (lái yuán 'source' of information, funds) or 源头 (yuán tóu 'fountainhead' of a river or idea), 产地 is concrete and commercial. 发源地 (fā yuán dì) is similar but used for the birthplace of cultures, rivers, or movements.
