Definition
亿 (yì) means '100 million' (10⁸). Unlike English, which groups by 1,000, Chinese groups by 10,000 (万, wàn); 亿 is equal to 10,000 of 万. The compound 亿万 (yì wàn) is an exaggerated expression for 'hundreds of millions' or 'billions,' not a precise number.
