传记 (zhuàn jì) is a third-person biography, written by another person about someone's life. 回忆录 is a first-person memoir (the subject writes their own story), while 传 (zhuàn) is a shorter or more literary form often used in compound words (e.g., 自传). 传记 is the standard, neutral term for a full biography.
