Definition
低落 (dī luò) is a common adjective for feeling down, gloomy, or low-spirited, often due to a specific setback or situation. It is less severe and more temporary than 抑郁 (yì yù, clinical depression) and less prolonged than 消沉 (xiāo chén, a state of dejection with loss of motivation). 低迷 (dī mí) is similar but more formal and often used for economic slumps.
