佳节 (jiā jié) is a formal, literary term for a joyous festival — more elevated than the everyday word 节日 (jiérì). It appears mainly in set greetings (e.g. 佳节快乐) and in the names of traditional festivals (e.g. 中秋佳节), while 节日 is the general word for any festival or holiday.
