Definition
侵犯 (qīnfàn) means 'to violate' — it covers both abstract rights/privacy and physical assault. Compared to 侵略 (qīnlüè), which is only about armed invasion of a country, 侵犯 is broader: it can target a person (sexual assault) or a right. 侵害 (qīnhài) is a close synonym but leans toward 'harm/damage' rather than the forceful intrusion of 侵犯.
