Definition
偏见 (piān jiàn) refers to a negative, preconceived judgment against a person or group—'prejudice' or 'bias' that is usually unfair. It differs from 偏向 (piān xiàng), which is a favorable leaning or partiality (favoritism), and from 偏差 (piān chā), which is a statistical or systematic deviation from a norm. As a noun, 偏见 is typically used for social or personal biases, not technical ones.
