Definition
做客 (zuò kè) means to be a guest at someone's home — you are the visitor. 请客 (qǐng kè) is the opposite: to be the host who invites and pays, e.g., treating someone to a meal. Think of 做客 as 'guest' and 请客 as 'host'. These two words share the 客 character but swap roles.
