Definition
内地 (nèi dì) has two senses: 'inland/interior area' (opposite of coastal) and 'mainland China' (opposite of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). Its sibling 大陆 (Dà lù) is more specific to the political sense of mainland China (the PRC) and is not used for general inland areas.
