冰棍儿 (bīng gùn r) is a colloquial term for a water-based popsicle on a stick. 雪糕 (xuě gāo) is creamier, like an ice cream bar, and is the more standard term. In everyday speech, 冰棍儿 is common in northern China, especially with the 儿化 ending.
