Definition
减速 means 'to slow down' or 'to decelerate'. It's a separable verb (离合词): the verb 减 and the noun 速 can split when you add a measure word, duration, or complement between them, e.g. 减一下速 ('slow down a bit') or 减了速 ('slowed down'). You can also use it as a single unit in formal or written contexts.
