Definition
出于 (chū yú) means 'out of; due to' and introduces the motive or reason behind an action, followed by a noun (e.g. 出于好意). It is more formal and specific than 因为, which can introduce a clause with a broader 'because' meaning. 源于 (yuán yú) is even more formal and emphasizes the origin or source rather than the motive.
