Definition
加上 (jiā shàng) is a spoken conjunction meaning 'in addition' or 'on top of that,' commonly used with 还 or 也 to stack up reasons or points. It is less formal than 并且 (bìngqiě) and 此外 (cǐwài), which are more often used in writing or formal speech; 此外 in particular usually starts a new sentence. 加以 (jiā yǐ) is the most formal, found in literary or official texts.
