Definition
励志 (lì zhì) means 'to set a goal and resolve to pursue it' — it focuses on the act of establishing an ambition. It differs from 决心 (jué xīn), which is a noun or verb for the state of being determined, and from 鼓励 (gǔ lì), which means 'to encourage' (an external action). 励志 is also commonly used as an adjective (e.g., 励志电影 'inspirational movie').
