Definition
单薄 (dān bó) has three connected uses: thin clothing that doesn't keep warm, a slender/frail body, and flimsy evidence or argument. Unlike 薄 (báo) which just means low thickness, 单薄 carries a sense of inadequacy. For body, 虚弱 (xū ruò) focuses on poor health, while 单薄 emphasizes a slight build; for abstract weakness, 薄弱 (bó ruò) is more common for weak points/links.
