Definition
反常 (fǎncháng) means 'abnormal, unusual' and describes something that goes against the norm, often used for weather, behavior, or results. Its direct opposite is 正常 (zhèngcháng, 'normal'). Unlike 异常 (yìcháng, HSK6), which also works as an adverb meaning 'extremely', 反常 is purely an adjective and emphasizes being contrary to what is expected.
