Definition
发晕 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to feel dizzy'. The verb 发 can separate from the noun 晕 when you add aspect markers (了, 过), measure words, or duration between them — for example, 发了一次晕 ('felt dizzy once') or 发过晕 ('have felt dizzy'). You cannot put a direct object after 发晕; instead, use 觉得发晕 or describe the cause separately.
