Definition
受孕 means 'to become pregnant'. It is a separable verb (离合词): the verb 受 and the noun 孕 can split, with aspect markers or quantity phrases inserted between them. You can say 受了孕 'got pregnant' or 受过一次孕 'got pregnant once'. The word is used in both medical and everyday contexts; it is more formal than 怀孕 (huáiyùn).
