Definition
受辱 means 'to be humiliated' or 'to suffer disgrace'. It is a separable verb (离合词): the noun 辱 'humiliation' can separate from the verb 受 'to receive' when measure words, aspect markers, or modifiers are inserted, e.g., 受过一次辱 ('have suffered humiliation once'). It is used in formal or literary contexts; in everyday speech, 被羞辱 is more common.
