Definition
吉利 (jí lì) describes something that brings good luck or is considered auspicious, especially in traditional Chinese culture (e.g., colors, dates, words). It is very close to 吉祥 (jíxiáng), but 吉利 is more common in everyday speech for things like '吉利的话' (auspicious words). 幸运 (xìngyùn) refers to personal good fortune, not to objects or events being auspicious.
