Definition
吹捧 means to excessively flatter someone, often insincerely and to gain favor. It is more negative and sycophantic than 捧 (pěng, to flatter) and 恭维 (gōngwéi, to flatter politely). Use 吹捧 when you want to emphasize the insincerity and ulterior motive behind the praise.
