Definition
和睦 (hé mù) describes peaceful, conflict-free relationships between family members, neighbors, or groups. Unlike 和谐 (hé xié), which is broader (for society, colors, sounds), 和睦 focuses on interpersonal harmony. It differs from 融洽 (róng qià), which emphasizes smooth, friendly interaction, and from 平和 (píng hé), which refers to a calm temperament.
