Definition
大大咧咧 describes someone who is carefree and casual, often to the point of being careless or offhand — it has a slightly negative or teasing tone. It's more specific than 随便 (suíbiàn, 'casual, informal'), which is neutral, and less elegant than 潇洒 (xiāosǎ, 'suave and carefree'). The AABB reduplication is typical of colloquial adjectives in Chinese.
