Definition
嫁 (jià) specifically means a woman marrying a man, or a family marrying off a daughter. It contrasts with 娶 (qǔ), which is a man taking a wife, and with the gender-neutral 结婚 (jié hūn) 'to get married'. 嫁 also has a separate sense of shifting blame or responsibility onto someone (嫁祸).
