Definition
寄托 means to entrust abstract things like hope, emotion, or energy into someone/something, or to entrust a person to someone's care. Unlike 委托/托付, which focus on delegating a concrete task, 寄托 emphasizes emotional investment. It is distinct from 拜托 (request a favor) and 嘱托 (entrust with instructions).
