Definition
就寝 is a formal, written-style verb meaning 'to go to bed' or 'to retire for the night'. It is rarely used in everyday conversation — the common spoken word is 睡觉 (shuìjiào). You'll encounter 就寝 in official announcements, hotel notices, military or boarding-school schedules, and literature. It cannot take an object. A typical pattern is 按时就寝 ('go to bed on time') or 就寝时间 ('bedtime').
