Definition
干涉 (gān shè) means 'to interfere, to meddle' and always has a negative connotation — unwelcome involvement in someone else's affairs. It differs from 干预 (gān yù), which can be neutral or positive ('intervene to help'), and from 干扰 (gān rǎo), which means 'to disturb' (people, work, or signals). 插手 (chā shǒu) is a more colloquial, physical metaphor for meddling.
