Definition
当中 (dāng zhōng) means 'among' or 'in the middle of' and is used after a noun phrase to indicate being part of a group or located within a physical space. Unlike 中间 (zhōng jiān), which focuses on the midpoint between two ends, 当中 emphasizes being inside a set or area. 中 (zhōng) is more general and less specific about membership.
