Definition
惊动 means to disturb or alarm, often by causing a reaction or drawing attention (e.g., startling a dog or alerting many people). It is broader than 打搅 (dǎ jiǎo, to bother someone during an activity) and less aggressive than 骚扰 (sāo rǎo, to harass repeatedly). Unlike 惊吓 (jīng xià, to frighten), 惊动 can be a milder disturbance without fear.
