Definition
推移 (tuī yí) is a formal verb for the passage of time or gradual development of a situation, often in patterns like 随着时间的推移. Unlike 流逝 (liú shì), which implies time flowing away, 推移 is more neutral. For situations, it is less transformative than 演变 / 演化.
