Definition
撒气 is a separable verb (离合词). Its two main meanings are: (1) for a tire, balloon, or container to lose air and go flat, and (2) for a person to vent anger or take frustration out on someone else. Because it is a verb-object compound (撒 + 气), its syllables can be split by inserting a measure word, an amount, or a possessive: 撒了一次气 ('leaked once'), 撒我的气 ('take your anger out on me'). At least one example below shows this split pattern.
