操练 (cāo liàn) means 'to drill' — repeated, structured practice of a physical skill or procedure, especially in military or physical training. It is more repetitive and action-focused than 训练 (xùn liàn, any training) and more concrete than 练习 (liàn xí, general practice). Unlike 演习 (yǎn xí) or 演练 (yǎn liàn), which simulate real scenarios, 操练 emphasizes drilling the same movements to build automaticity.
