收工 (shōu gōng) is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to finish work for the day' or 'to call it a day'. It is commonly used in contexts of manual labor, construction, or other physical work, but can also be used informally in office settings. As a separable verb, the object 工 can be separated from 收 with elements like 了, 过, or duration phrases — for example, 收了工 ('finished work'), 收过工 ('have finished work before').
