Definition
收音 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to receive radio signals or to tune in to a broadcast. You can split the two characters to insert measure words, duration, or aspect markers: 收过音 (have tuned in), 收一次音 (tune in once), 收不到音 (can't receive any signal). Note that 收音 also appears as a noun in other contexts (acoustics of a room, phonetic final), but those uses have a different part of speech and are not covered here.
