Definition
敦促 (dūn cù) is a formal, often official way to say 'urge' — it implies a polite but firm request from an authority, seen in diplomatic or government contexts. It differs from 催/催促 (cuī/cuī cù), which focuses on time pressure and hurrying; from 督促 (dū cù), which adds supervision to check progress; and from 劝 (quàn), which is more about persuasion and advice.
