Definition
松弛 describes something that is loose, lax, or flabby — used for both physical body parts (muscles, skin) and abstract things (rules, discipline). It is more formal than 松 (sōng), which is the everyday word for 'loose' or 'to loosen'. Unlike 松懈 (sōngxiè), which has a negative connotation of 'slacking off', 松弛 can be neutral or negative depending on context.
