Definition
极限 (jíxiàn) refers to the utmost or extreme boundary — the maximum or minimum possible point (e.g., speed limit, potential). It differs from 限度 (xiàndù), which is a general limit or limitation (often set by rules), and from 界限 (jièxiàn), which is a dividing line or cutoff. 上限 (shàngxiàn) is specifically the upper limit or cap.
