Definition
根治 (gēnzhì) means to cure or solve a problem completely and permanently — like eradicating a disease or a deep-rooted issue. Its sibling 整治 (zhěngzhì) is broader: it can mean regulating (traffic, rivers), repairing something, or even colloquially "fixing" a person. While 根治 focuses on a radical, lasting solution, 整治 often involves managing or correcting without the same sense of finality.
