Definition
水花 (shuǐ huā) literally means 'water flower' and most commonly refers to spray or splash created when water hits a surface — the droplets that burst into flower-like patterns. In some regional dialects or traditional medicine, it can also mean chicken pox (标准说法是水痘). The spray sense appears in both literal descriptions (跳水运动员的水花) and poetic metaphors (水花四溅).
