Definition
汇合 means 'to converge, come together' and is the most general word for physical convergence — rivers, crowds, or groups flowing together. 合并 (hé bìng) is more specific for merging organizations or entities; 融合 (róng hé) emphasizes blending different elements into a harmonious whole (cultures, flavors). 汇聚 (huì jù) and 汇集 (huì jí) are near-synonyms, but 汇聚 stresses gathering together and 汇集 stresses collecting/amassing.
