Definition
洗胃 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to perform gastric lavage'. The object 胃 'stomach' can split off from 洗 and allow insertion of measure words, duration, or other elements — e.g. 洗了一次胃 'did gastric lavage once'. In normal use, you can also treat 洗胃 as a unit: 医生在洗胃 'the doctor is doing gastric lavage'. This is a medical term, not used in everyday conversation.
