Definition
热爱 (rè ài) means 'to love deeply, to be passionate about' — it is stronger and more emotional than 喜爱 (xǐ ài 'to like/love') and is used for abstract things like one's country, life, or a hobby. Unlike 迷恋 (mí liàn 'infatuation'), 热爱 is a positive, healthy passion without excess.
