瓷器 (cíqì) refers specifically to porcelain and chinaware — the fine, translucent, white ceramic that China is famous for. 陶瓷 (táocí) is the broader term covering all ceramics, including pottery, stoneware, and porcelain. So porcelain is a type of 陶瓷, but not everything 陶瓷 is 瓷器.
