甜美 describes something sweet and pleasant — it can apply to taste, sound, expression, or life experiences. Unlike 甜 (tián), which is mainly literal sweetness of food, 甜美 adds a sense of pleasantness. It's more versatile than 甜蜜 (tián mì, figurative for love/memories) and 愉快 (yú kuài, general happiness), and unlike 宜人 (yí rén, for weather/scenery), 甜美 can also describe voices and smiles.
