Definition
生机 (shēng jī) refers to the life force or vitality that makes something grow and thrive, often used for nature or living things. It also means a 'chance to live' when someone is in danger. It is more poetic and abstract than 活力 (huó lì 'energy, vigor'), which is about active physical or mental energy, and 生命力 (shēng mìng lì 'life force') is more literal and biological.
