Definition
画图 is a separable verb-object structure (离合词) meaning 'to draw a picture' or 'to make a drawing'. The verb 画 and the object 图 can be split by a measure word, duration, or other modifiers — for example, 画了一张图 ('drew a picture') or 画了两个小时的图 ('drew for two hours'). Unlike the single verb 画, 画图 emphasizes the activity of creating a diagram or picture as a whole.
