Definition
畸形 (jī xíng) describes something that is physically malformed or, figuratively, abnormally distorted. Unlike 异常 or 反常 (which simply mean 'unusual' or 'abnormal'), 畸形 carries a strong negative connotation of being warped or misshapen, often used for social phenomena or physical deformities. Note that 残疾 (cán jí) is a noun for 'disability', not an adjective like 畸形.
