Definition
盘 (pán) is a classifier for games of chess or Go (一盘棋) and for servings of food on a plate (一盘菜). As a verb it can mean to coil, to examine, or to transfer a business. Unlike the noun 盘子 (pánzi), which refers to the physical plate or dish, 盘 is used as a measure word or action.
