Definition
瞅 (chǒu) is a dialectal, colloquial word for 'to look at' or 'to glance', common in Northern Chinese speech. It is less formal than 看 (kàn) and similar to 瞧 (qiáo), but 瞅 has a stronger regional flavor. Unlike 盯 (dīng) 'stare' or 瞪 (dèng) 'glare', 瞅 does not imply intensity or emotion.
