Definition
矿 (kuàng) has two main senses: a mine (the physical site) and ore/mineral deposit. It is more concrete than 矿产 (kuàng chǎn) and 矿藏 (kuàng cáng), which refer to mineral resources in a general, collective sense. 矿 is also used in compound names for specific minerals (e.g., 煤矿 'coal mine').
